Walk it Out!!
Lyrics From “We Told Em” by Trip Lee:
We like to talk a lot ’bout how we runnin’ that Christian race/
But then when it comes time to walk it out – nah, we don’t ever wanna get in place/
We don’t even know what it’s all about/
There’s a problem goin’ on with tha saints…/
Today at Vinings Lake, Pastor Pete finished up the series called Vital Signs. It was a great message and I think he did a great job at explaining that the works don’t save us, they prove we are saved. Our deeds are the Vital Signs that we have been transformed and that God is working in and through us. He also talked about love for one another in the body of Christ, which seems to be lacking a lot…especially online in blogs (hopefully not this one) where people bash other Christians before even talking to them first. Then they say they love the other person, which contradicts their actions. We gotta be congruent, people. If our talk and our walk don’t match – we’re liars. If we say we have faith but do nothing – our faith is dead and so are we, because our faith is our life and our life is our faith. You can’t be alive with dead faith – it’s impossible. Don’t be hatin’ me, that’s the Word from God Himself:
James 2:
20You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? 21Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. 24You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
Martin Luther said once that we are saved by faith alone but not by a faith that is alone. May God give each of us a burden to show our Faith so that the world may see our works and Glorify Him!
