Thank You Mr. Clary!

When I attended Riverview High School back from 85-89 I had an awesome teacher named Mr. Clary.  The second half of my freshman year he taught me Geography.  I’m glad he was my teacher or I would have definitely failed. (blah)

From my sophomore to senior years he taught Marketing classes.  Those were some great classes!  We often took “field trips” to McDonalds. LOL!  I honestly think that the most practical stuff I learned in school came from Mr. Clary.  I use what I learned from him, even ’til today.

Well, last week after attending a Teacher Appreciation Lunch for the local teachers where I now live, I decided to call him.  So, I looked up his name and dialed the number.  His wife answered and I explained that I was looking for a Mr. Clary who used to teach at Riverview HS.  She told him that it was someone who says he used to be one of his students.  Then, Mr. Clary picked up the phone.  I reminded him of who I was, including the year I got a 99 on the pre-final and he let me out of taking the final exam.  I went on to tell him where I was and what I am doing now.  I told him that he really made a difference and that any time people start talking about teachers, I always talk about how he was my favorite and how I learned so much from him.  He mentioned that he just got out of the hospital and that they think there’s something wrong with his mind.  Maybe he won’t remember the call – I’m not sure.  But I know that I will never forget how awesome of a teacher Mr. George Clary was.  Thank you, Mr. Clary!
