The Beginning

For years I have loved rap music and I have always desired to minister to people using the medium of rap music.  Recently God showed me that it is time.  I fought back and thought that it was too late.  I thought there was no way God was going to use a 37 yr old caucasian guy who is starting to get a few gray hairs (Wisdom – it’s in the Bible) to reach a younger generation through hip-hop and other stuff.  But then I got reminded of David.  Remember the little guy who was bringing some stuff to his brothers in battle and ended up killing Goliath (the giant everyone was afraid of)?  He didn’t fit the world’s mold of a giant killer.  What about the disciples – you know -the tax collectors, fishermen, etc.?  They weren’t the ones the world saw fit to be the ones Jesus chose…but He did.  

It all goes into I Corinthians where Paul talks about how God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wisdom of the wise.  To the world, it’s foolish for me to do this.  I don’t fit “the mold,” I’m not part of the younger generation.  I’m “too old.”  Hey – all I gotta say to those people who say that is this, “Take it up with God. It was His choice.  I’m just being obedient.”

I talked to someone today and I may have the opportunity in the first part of October to minister to a bunch of kids at an event after two football games.  Here’s where I am challenged with this – I need to get some music and some studio time.  Yes – I know God provides.  I also know He uses others to do that sometimes.  I already have a few songs that I can use but God is really giving me a lot of ideas and lyrics right now.  I know some people have asked me how they can help.  If you can and God is leading you to do so, then please make a donation.  I am not a non-profit organization so it will not be tax deductible, but you may just see some people God uses me to reach in Heaven one day – that’s an even better reward!  If you can’t donate right now, please pray.  In fact…please pray even if you do donate.
